Your Community is Our Community
At IKO Community Management, we’re invested in our community. IKO Community Management believes that communities aren’t just bricks and mortar. Communities are made of individuals, each with something to offer and each with their own challenges. IKO Cares about the people in our communities and wants to introduce you to some of the great causes we support. In addition to supporting our staff’s charitable efforts, IKO is a proud supporter of the following charities:
Montgomery General Hospital Capital Campaign for Oncology
Inspire the Innovation to Cure
The Capital Campaign for Oncology will support radiation therapy, the infusion center and the oncology unit at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The funds raised will advance cancer diagnosis and treatments, purchase the best medical technology in our area, and enhance preventative programs and support services.
Lou Iaquinta, President of IKO Community Management is the 2015 Capital Campaign for Oncology Chair.
“It is my honor to be the chair of the Capital Campaign for Oncology. I firmly believe that the MedStar Montgomery’s vision of expanding the cancer treatment services in our community will be a major step forward in the hospital’s long-term quest to provide the best modern technology and medical equipment furthering our efforts in the treatment of this dreaded disease. The acquisition of new linear accelerator for radiation therapy will help localize treatment options, making it more accessible for patients and families, and will go a long way in addressing this vision. I appeal to the philanthropic spirit of both businesses and community members to assist us in reaching this vision.”
-Lou Iaquinta, Campaign Chair
Relay for Life
The journey to end cancer starts with a single step. The American Cancer Society invites you to take that step with us and IKO Community Management by joining the global Relay For Life movement. When you walk to end cancer at a Relay event, it’s your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what we can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the world’s largest walk to end cancer.
IKO Community Management is a proud sponsor of the Olney Chapter Relay for Life.
This year, IKO Community Management is participating in the Olney Relay for Life as the IKO Conquerors. You can help IKO Community Management raise money towards the fight against cancer by supporting our team in this year's relay. When you donate, your money helps the American Cancer society fund research, patient care services and prevention and early detection programs. Every donation, no matter the amount, and is greatly appreciated by our team as well as those suffering from the disease. Donate today and help save lives by clicking the button below:
In 2015, the 10th anniversary of this event, Susan Iaquinta, who helped to start the Olney Chapter of the Relay for life, spoke.
The Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide rehabilitative golf experiences and family-inclusive golf opportunities for post-9/11 wounded war veterans in an effort to improve the quality of life for these American heroes.
IKO is a proud sponsor of SMGA and sponsor of golf tournaments held at the Montgomery Country Club supporting this charity.

IKO is a proud supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory walk.
The Interfaith Families Project
The Interfaith Families Project of Greater Washington (IFFP) is an independent community of interfaith families and others committed to sharing, learning about, and celebrating our Jewish and Christian traditions. It is the only interfaith organization of its kind in the country. IKO contributes to IFFP each year by participating in The IFFP toiletry collection drive which begins each fall. IKO’s Diane Katz stores and assemble the bags and instructs the small children at the IFFP Holiday Party to decorate the bags with stickers or glitter. IFFP members visit an assisted living facility on a Sunday afternoon in December, usually after the Holiday party. Interested residents of the assisted living center gather in the activity room for cookies, punch and holiday entertainment. The IFFP Teen Group passes out the toiletry gift bags to the residents’ rooms who could not attend the festivities while caroling and visiting with residents. IFFP distributes more than 130 bags each year.
IKO is a proud supporter of the IFFP Collection Drive.
IKO cares about our community and encourages you to learn more about these causes.
