Super Bowl 50 is a big deal, so you should have an equally as awesome appetizer to serve all of your friends and family. We know you’re busy setting up decorations and gathering party favors for your touchdown football party, so to help you out with the menu, our president and CEO’s wife, Sue, has got you covered with a recipe from the family cookbook: Sue’s Super Bowl Cheese Spread.
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to get started:
4 8-oz. packages cream cheese
1 8-oz. package blue cheese
¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 sm. onion (finely chopped or grated)
1-2 small packages pecans or walnuts (crushed)
1 tablespoon cream or Half & Half
Here are the cooking directions:
Soften the cream cheese using a microwave, then put it in a large bowl. In that large bowl, add the cream or Half & Half, Worcestershire sauce, finely chopped or grated onion. After adding all of those ingredients to the cream cheese, mix everything with handheld mixer until it’s creamy like cake icing.
After the mixture is to this consistency, you’ll want to shape it into a log and top it with the good stuff. To begin, sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly on a cookie sheet covered wax paper. Then, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of the nutty layer. Begin carefully rolling the wax paper full of ingredients into a log shape. Wrap the wax paper log in aluminum foil and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
When cooled, serve with crackers or on Melba toast.
